Linda Fischetti, RN, MS, is the Chief Health Informatics Officer for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) at the US Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, she leads VHA’s Emerging Health Technologies, Health Information Standards and Interoperability, Informatics, and the broadly recognized electronic Consumer Informatics and Barcode Programs. She also serves as VHA’s liaison to the US Department of Health and Human Services Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). She is designated as VHA’s representative to many Federal and private-sector health information technology activities, including the White House Health Information Technology Task Force.

Fischetti sits on the National eHealth Collaborative Board of Directors, the Health Information Technology Standards Committee, and the Nationwide Health Information Network Governance Subcommittee of the Health Information Technology Policy Committee formed by ONC in accordance with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act’s Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health provisions. Fischetti is also an advisor to the University of Maryland s’ School of Nursing Informatics Program.
