Jim Hansen serves as Vice President and Executive Director of the Dossia Consortium, a not-for-profit association that brings together major employers to advance the use of secure, patient-centric, health management systems.

Prior to joining the Dossia Consortium, Hansen was President and CEO of CareEntrust, a not-for-profit employer-sponsored health information exchange delivering a secure, regional, health record service for use by both consumer/patients and health care providers.

Hansen is a member within the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative, the eHealth Initiative, the American Medical Informatics Association Consumer Workgroup, and the Center for Health Value Innovation. He also currently serves on the SHARP/SMART Advisory Committee for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. Previously, he was on the IOM Learning Health Care System Workgroup and the Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel.

Hansen has over 25 years of information technology, strategic planning, product development, marketing, operations, and finance experience, including 15 years within the health care industry. He holds an MBA and a BS in Business Administration (Information Management emphasis) from the University of Colorado.
