Michael Rosenbaum

Chairman and CEO, Arena
Executive Chair and Founder, Catalyte
Member, Rework America Task Force

Mike is the Chairman and CEO of Arena, which applies predictive analytics and artificial intelligence to talent, hiring, and team assembly in healthcare. Arena is deployed into 486 healthcare facilities who together process approximately one million unique job applicants per year, with clients including Mt Sinai Health System, Sunrise Senior Living, Multicare Health System, and Curo Health Services. When using its technology to predict for retention, Arena has a 100% success rate at reducing employee turnover, with a median impact of a 38% turnover reduction. Other outcomes for which Arena’s technology can predict include employee engagement, patient experience, time and attendance, and even unique predictions such as sales yield. Its work has been profiled in Bloomberg, Forbes, and other national publications.

Mike spun Arena out of Catalyte, a company he started to apply similar principles to the software engineering industry. Catalyte’s clients include organizations such as Starwood, JPMorganChase, Under Armour, Cambia Health, and Red Hat, who have used Catalyte’s approach to applying data to assembling software engineering teams to drive their strategies and to build more diverse, capable, and local workforces. He grew Catalyte to over 300 people before stepping down as CEO and becoming Executive Chair.

Prior to starting Arena and Catalyte, Mike received an Irving R. Kaufman Fellowship to support his work building the first version of what is now Arena’s analytics engine for talent selection. Earlier in his career Mike was a John M. Olin Fellow in Law and Economics at Harvard, and served at the White House as an economist, at the U.S. Department of State on trade issues and issues related to the former Soviet Union, and at Coopers & Lybrand in the Russian Federation on privatization and commercialization in the early 1990’s. In addition to his academic work around what became Arena and Catalyte, Rosenbaum’s publications and work focused on the application of data to the most subjective areas of human endeavors.

Mike has a JD from Harvard Law School, an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BA from Harvard College.
