For years, Linda Woloshansky and the Valparaiso-based Center for Workforce Innovations she presides over have been focused on workforce education for the purposes of economic development across Northwest Indiana.

That organization brings people in the community together to focus on consensus building, and how they can feed the best practices of innovation and move them to other groups.

In February, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development released a statement saying 20 governors, including Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb, have joined together to form the Skillful State Network, a collaboration to transform the U.S. labor market into one that is skills-based, in which people can demonstrate or obtain the skills needed for good digital economy jobs.

This will enable employers to find the talent they need, and individuals can continually acquire new skills and keep up with the pace of change.
