Markle to Join with Gov. Hickenlooper and LinkedIn at Skillful Rollout, Expanding Opportunities for Job Seekers without College Degrees
Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper will join Markle Foundation CEO and President Zoë Baird and LinkedIn Co-Founder Allen Blue as well as job seekers, employers, and educators from across Colorado to go live with Skillful. The new skills-based online tool is paired with on-the-ground engagement to connect job seekers, employers, and educators. Skillful will help job seekers identify the specific skills and training rather than just degrees needed for available jobs. Skillful is geared toward middle-skill job seekers, individuals with a high school diploma and some college experience, but not a four-year degree.
At the event, Zoë Baird and Allen Blue will walk attendees through the important tools and resources Skillful provides to Coloradans across the state. Event attendees will tour the interactive job seeker experience, learn about opportunities with local employers, connect with training programs to develop the skills necessary to obtain those jobs, and engage with on-the-ground support. Skillful will help connect more talented Coloradans to opportunity.
The event will conclude with a visit to an advanced manufacturing training classroom at Emily Griffith Technical College, one of Skillful’s education partners.
Colorado will be the first state in the country to have access to Skillful, and Phoenix will be the first city.
