Skillful Goes Live in Phoenix

Date: Apr 07 2016

Time: 12:30 p.m. Mountain Time

Venue: Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton will join Markle Foundation CEO and President Zoë Baird, LinkedIn Vice President of Product Management and Co-Founder Allen Blue and Arizona State University representatives as well as job seekers, employers and educators from the greater Phoenix area and Maricopa County to go live with Skillful. The new skills-based platform is paired with on-the-ground engagement to connect job seekers, employers and educators. Skillful will help job seekers identify the specific skills and training, rather than just the degrees needed for available jobs. Skillful is geared toward middle-skill job seekers, individuals with a high school diploma and some college experience, but not a four-year degree.

At the event, Zoë Baird and Allen Blue will walk attendees through the important tools and resources Skillful provides to Phoenix and Maricopa County residents. Event attendees will tour the interactive job seeker experience, learn about opportunities with local employers, connect with training programs to develop the skills necessary to obtain those jobs, and engage with on the ground support. Phoenix is the first city in Arizona to have access to Skillful.
