Kim Nazi, FACHE, is an Analyst for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), working in the Veterans/Consumer Health Informatics Office of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). She is a Board-certified Healthcare Executive and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. She holds a Masters degree in Strategic Communication from Seton Hall University, and is currently a PhD candidate in the Joint Sociology/Communication doctoral program at the University of Albany. Her research interests include technology and personal health records, health communication, organizational sociology, and behavioral interventions.
Prior to taking on her current role in July 2006, Nazi served as the Director of eHealth for the VA Healthcare Network, Upstate New York, focusing on the use of technology to improve and expand the delivery of health care services. She has served as a member of several national workgroups including the American Health Information Community (AHIC) Consumer Empowerment Workgroup, is a frequent presenter on the topic of Personal Health Records, and has published multiple journal articles.
Nazi contributed to both the Markle Common Framework for Networked Personal Health Information and the Common Framework for Private and Secure Information Exchange. As a federal employee, she collaborates with Markle, but does not endorse documents.
