Tara Lemmey is the CEO and co-founder of Net Power & Light, home of the Spin Platform. Built on Net Power & Light’s thoroughly patented technology, the Spin Platform for Together Experiences brings the excitement of live, active events to the whole Internet and brings people together in entirely new ways.
Prior to Net Power & Light, Lemmey founded a number of successful technology startups. Most recently she was strategy advisor for Ribbit (acquired by British Telecom), and served on the board of Discovery Mining, now part of HP. She is also the Chairman of LENS Ventures, an innovation strategy firm advising executive leadership for organizations such as American Express and the US Government on innovation investments.
Lemmey has worked extensively to re-imagine education and created DGREE.ORG, an initiative funded by the Lumina Foundation, to envision the future of higher education and explore how technology and innovation can drive new models for student-centered, lifetime learning. She is on the faculty of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine at University of Arizona.
Lemmey served as technology co-chair of the Markle Task Force on National Security in the Information Age. She was the lead architect of the SHARE information environment recommendation which became the ISE, the new way of information sharing for the intelligence and national security community post 9/11.
Lemmey is the co-author of over 30 US and International patents.
