A leader in emergency medicine and medical informatics, Brian Keaton, MD, has worked at the national and state levels using information technologies to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of patient care. Following his service as President of the American College of Emergency Physicians, he retired from the clinical practice of emergency medicine to focus on health information exchange and the implementation of electronic health records.
Keaton now serves as the Chief Medical Information Officer at the Akron General Health System in Akron, Ohio, and is Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at the Northeastern Ohio University’s College of Medicine.
